I have been a student of Yoga since 1999. I was
drawn to Yoga because I thought the movement was
beautiful to watch. At first, I was VERY frustrated
by how inflexible and weak I felt - it was humbling.
I'm SO glad I stuck with it. Soon I started to feel
stronger, healthier, centered, more balanced and
peaceful. My life began to change in wonderful and
unexpected ways. I learned to love and honor my
body. I finally saw the beauty in patience,
discipline and being still inside. Somewhere along
the way I found my voice and began to use it. I
started focusing on being more conscious. I look
back now and realize I was waking up. I began to
listen to my intuition and later trust it. I got
stronger – mind, body and spirit. Even now, every
day brings a new lesson.
I was asked to teach in 2000. I absolutely love
it. I LOVE having anything to do with people getting
into Yoga and having their lives changed as a
result.
I have completed many work shops and teacher
trainings in conjunction with YogaWorks, Integrative
Healing Strategies, Omega Institute for Holistic
Studies and the Institute for Advancement of Human
Behavior. My training reaches Vinyasa, Sivananda,
Vini, Bikram, Ashtanga and Pre-natal Yoga and
various types of meditation and energy work. I am
greatly influenced by Edwin Bergman, Tias Little,
Rod Stryker, Shiva Rae, Bryan and Johnny Kest and so
many other wonderful teachers. I am certified with
the prestigious and international YogaWorks. I am a
YogaWorks Teacher Training Ambassador. I am also
certified for Advanced Reiki.
Although I have trained in many other styles, I
consider Vinyasa my home. This flow style of yoga
resonates with me on many levels. More than
anything, I believe in listening to your body VERY
closely. It can be an incredible map! You’ll often
hear me say in class “If you are able to hear the
whispers, you will never hear a shout.” I like to
blend styles to customize and change it up.
On the personal side, I grew up in Kansas and
have two amazing children. I think a little sense of
humor can go a long way. I consider myself to be
more spiritual than religious. I think Yoga helps us
stay connected with our most positive and divine
Self. I trust that the Universe guides us when we
pay attention and stay present. Conscious living is
not for sissies! I believe energy medicine is VERY
powerful stuff. And I think people should use Yoga
in their lives however it suits them.
N’amaste’
